What is

The ABCDEFG Methodology?

Structured Change. Sustained Progress.

Our proprietary seven-step pathway for delivering purposeful change with clarity and lasting impact — adaptable to any scale, scope, or stage of progress.

Change: Why Method Matters

In business, change is no longer an occasional undertaking — it is the constant condition of progress. Markets shift, technologies advance, customer expectations evolve. For leaders, the challenge is not whether to change, but how to do it well, so that improvements take root and deliver lasting value.

Yet, many change initiatives underperform. Strategies stall in implementation, operational improvements lose momentum, and cultural shifts fade once initial attention wanes. The difference between change that endures and change that dissipates often lies in the method: the structure, discipline, and sequencing that turn intent into embedded reality.

At A New Level Advisory, we believe lasting change is not a matter of will alone — it is the product of a clear pathway, applied with purpose.

THREE PHASES

One Pathway to Progress.

The A-B-C-D-E-F-G Methodology is organised into three phases — each designed to move from initiation, through disciplined execution, to measurable and enduring results.

PHASE 1

A > Assess
B > Blueprint
C > Communicate

PHASE 2

D > Deliver
E > Evaluate

PHASE 3

F > Follow-Up
G > Growth

A Proven Pathway, Purposefully Designed.

These three phases come to life through a clear, seven-step sequence. Drawing on decades of proven change models, the ABCDEFG Methodology builds on respected foundations while resolving a recurring gap: adaptability.

Most methodologies excel in a specific context — a transformation programme, an operational improvement, or a cultural initiative. Few can operate seamlessly across all three. The ABCDEFG Methodology
was designed to do exactly that: a structured pathway adaptable to any scale, scope, or stage of progress.

While it often features as the execution stage of our wider Business Transfiguration
® approach, it is equally powerful as a standalone framework. Whether delivering a targeted operational improvement or embedding a complex, multi-year change, it provides a repeatable structure for moving from assessment to sustainable growth.

What Makes an Effective Change Methodology?

Effective change methodologies balance clarity with adaptability. The most enduring approaches are structured enough to give direction, yet flexible enough to respond to shifting needs. They provide a clear sequence, but also allow room to refine priorities as new information emerges.

The ABCDEFG Methodology
was designed with this balance in mind. It builds on established change principles while ensuring each phase can be applied to any scale, scope, or stage of progress. This combination of structure and flexibility ensures that change can be delivered, embedded, and sustained over time.

The ABCDEFG Pathway

The ABCDEFG Methodology

— Step By Step

 PHASE 1

STEP 1 — A > Assess

Conduct a thorough assessment to define the scope, scale, and nature of the challenge or opportunity.

Effective change starts with clarity. In this step, we investigate the current state in depth, combining data analysis, stakeholder insight, and contextual review to capture an accurate picture of the challenge or opportunity. This ensures that recommendations are grounded in reality, not assumption, and that every subsequent action is informed by a solid evidence base. The quality of this stage sets the tone for the entire programme
.

STEP 2 — B > Blueprint

Translate assessment findings into a tailored blueprint that sets direction, priorities, and a clear course of action.

Here, insights from the assessment are synthesised into a structured blueprint — a practical design for change that is aligned with organisational context and desired outcomes. The blueprint defines the most advantageous path forward, identifying key initiatives, sequencing, and required capabilities. It is both a decision-making tool and a commitment to a chosen direction, balancing ambition with feasibility.

STEP 3 — C > Communicate

Share a clear roadmap that secures alignment, ownership, and commitment from all key stakeholders.

Even the best blueprint fails without engagement. This step ensures the change plan is communicated with precision and clarity, defining responsibilities, timelines, and expected outcomes. It fosters alignment across leadership and teams, builds trust, and establishes the accountability mechanisms that will sustain momentum. By securing buy-in early, the change process is positioned for smooth execution and reduced resistance.

PHASE 2

STEP 4 — D > Deliver

Implement the agreed initiatives to a high standard, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum integration.

Delivery is where plans become reality. This step translates the blueprint into tangible actions, ensuring that initiatives are executed to agreed quality standards and fully integrated into day-to-day operations. We focus on minimising disruption to business-as-usual while embedding the changes into core processes so they endure beyond the project’s formal end. Delivery is not just about hitting deadlines — it’s about achieving outcomes that are sustainable and aligned with the original intent.

STEP 5 — E > Evaluate

Measure progress against targets and adapt to keep outcomes on track and relevant.

Evaluation is continuous, not a one-off event. We track progress against defined success measures, identifying both achievements and variances early enough to act. This allows us to make informed adjustments, prevent drift, and protect the quality of outcomes. Evaluation also ensures the change remains relevant in a shifting context — confirming that what was planned is still what is most needed, and that the value delivered is clear and measurable.

PHASE 3

STEP 6  F > Follow-Up

Maintain oversight and support to ensure changes embed fully and deliver the intended benefits.

Follow-up bridges the gap between project completion and lasting impact. This stage monitors how the change is performing in practice, identifying any adjustments or refinements needed to secure the desired results. It also ensures that the changes become part of the organisation’s normal way of operating, supported by training, resources, and ongoing guidance. By staying engaged beyond the delivery phase, we protect the investment of time and effort already made.

STEP 7  G > Growth

Build on achieved results to unlock further opportunity and sustain a trajectory of improvement.

Growth reflects the belief that change is a starting point, not an endpoint. Here, we focus on leveraging the progress made to explore new opportunities, strengthen capabilities, and embed a mindset of continuous improvement. The aim is to ensure that the organisation not only maintains the gains achieved but is positioned to extend them — creating a cycle of ongoing value creation.

Enterprise-wide transformation — embedding new operating models, culture shifts, or strategic priorities.
Targeted operational improvement — refining processes, elevating quality standards, or enhancing customer experience.
Capability building — strengthening leadership alignment, upskilling teams, and establishing new ways of working.

In every case, the same principles apply: clarity at the outset, disciplined delivery, and sustained follow-up. This ensures that change is not only achieved but endures — creating a platform for future growth.

Applying The ABCDEFG Methodology

The strength of The ABCDEFG Methodology lies in its adaptability. It can operate as the execution engine of a larger transformation — as in Business Transfiguration®, where it turns strategic clarity into embedded change — or it can be deployed as a focused intervention for a specific challenge or growth initiative.

Because each phase and step can be scaled, the methodology works across contexts:

Why it Matters Now

Today’s business environment is defined by speed, complexity, and continual disruption. Shifting markets, emerging technologies, and rising stakeholder expectations mean that change is no longer a special project — it is the norm. For many organisations, the challenge is not recognising the need for change, but sustaining it long enough to realise its full value.

In this climate, relying on ad-hoc or narrowly focused approaches is a risk. Without a clear pathway, even well-intentioned change efforts can lose momentum, fall short of their objectives, or fail to embed into daily practice. Leaders need a methodology that is structured enough to keep initiatives on track, yet adaptable enough to respond to evolving priorities and unforeseen developments.

The ABCDEFG Methodology
delivers exactly that. By providing a proven, seven-step pathway — applicable at any scale, scope, or stage of progress — it equips organisations to navigate change with clarity, execute with confidence, and sustain the results over time. In a world where the pace of change shows no sign of slowing, that capability is not just valuable — it is essential.
